Description
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have had some epic battles on the golf course over the course of their amazing careers. One of the more impressive ones came in the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. The first U.S. Open to be played on a public course, this event concluded with Woods earning his second career U.S. Open win and eighth major title overall. Although Woods ended with a wire-to-wire victory, Mickelson made it interesting on the weekend. He carded a 67 on Saturday and a final-round 70 to get within three shots of Woods, but it was Tiger's weekend as he earned the win with a three-under par 270.
